PennDOT sets meetings on bridge upgrade plans

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will hold public meetings for several bridge replacement projects in Somerset County.

A meeting for the replacement of five bridges carrying Route 2019 (Fairhope Road) and 2021 (Shaffer’s Run Road) over Shaffer’s Run in Fairhope Township will be held from 8 to 9 p.m. today at the Fairhope Community Building.

A meeting will be held for the Laurel Run Bridge replacement project on Route 160 in Shade Township from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Shade Township Municipal Building in Cairnbrook.

The plans displays will introduce the projects and allow an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed plans, traffic control, as well as comment on potential environmental and community effects.

Anyone with knowledge of historic resources in the project areas is invited to attend.

Representatives from PennDOT will be available to answer questions and receive input.
