Dad helps deliver son in bookstore parking lot

LATROBE — A Westmoreland County man who missed his daughter’s birth when he was serving overseas with the Navy two years ago was more hands-on for his son’s birth.

The man said he pulled into a Barnes & Noble parking lot on Route 30 and called 911.

But before help could arrive, the couple’s 7-pound, 11-ounce son, Wesley, did – right into Quicquaro’s arms.

Wesley joins sister Maci, who was born when her father was stationed in Iraq.

Quicquaro said missing his daughter’s birth “has been a huge regret” but said being there to deliver his son “is exactly what I needed in my life.”
