Five Portage Borough residents were charged in connection with a brawl that left two people injured, authorities said.
Police said a fight broke out on Jefferson Avenue on Oct. 3 between Jason Wayne Macewan, 41, of the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue, and Ricky Lynn Crum, 18, of the 800 block of Main Street.
According to a court document, a witness told police Crum ran up to Macewan and hit him in the face and they both went to the ground. Others joined in, including Darryl Wayne Crum, 46, of the 800 block of Conemaugh Avenue, who started punching Macewan in the head, the witness said.
According to the report, Tara Rynae Abbotts, 36, of the 800 block of Main Street, kicked Macewan in the left side and Tracy Lynn Crum, 37, of the 800 block of Conemaugh Avenue, slapped Macewan in the face while she held a naked baby in one arm.
Both Ricky Crum and Macewan were injured.
Ricky Crum told police the fight started when he attempted to speak with Macewan about an earlier incident involving him and Abbotts. Macewan was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct in the incident.
Macewan also was charged with disorderly conduct in the second incident.
Ricky Crum, Darryl Wayne Crum, Tracy Crum and Abbotts were charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.
All will answer the charges at a later date before District Judge Galen Decort of Portage.
