The Bedford County Endowments of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies will host a Jazz Age lawn party called “Philanthropy Takes Flight” from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 29 on the spa lawn at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa, 2138 Business Route 220.
The semiannual fundraiser will benefit the Bedford County Community Fund, which supports nonprofit and civic organizations, health and human services, and a variety of other causes in the county.
“This event is more than just a good time at a beautiful venue,” said Kay Reynolds, director of Bedford County Endowments. “It’s so important because it’s helping the endowments to grow its own fund, which will be used solely to impact our county.”
Guests are invited to wear 1920s-themed attire to celebrate the Jazz Age and to walk the grounds at the resort.
Hot air balloon rides, weather permitting, croquet and other lawn games are included, as well as children’s activities, scavenger hunts, trail walks, a ’20s-themed photo booth and picnic fare from the culinary team at Omni Bedford Springs.
Space for the balloon rides is limited and reservations are suggested.
Tickets are $100 per person. Children younger than 13 will be admitted free.
