PSU-Altoona students arrested at party

ALTOONA — Police say more than a dozen students were arrested at an afternoon party.

The Altoona Mirror says the Penn State-Altoona students were arrested after police broke up the celebration at the Nittany Pointe apartment building.

Police said about 800 people were taking part in the “Toon Party,” which included a deejay and drinking outside the building, when a vodka bottle was allegedly thrown at a police car.

Partygoers were dispersed and for the next few hours students were ordered to stay inside their apartment and handcuffed if they disobeyed.

Logan Township police Chief Ron Heller said shouting continued and numerous beer bottles were thrown from balconies as police patrolled.
