YWCA’s annual Tribute to Women will honor 7

JOHNSTOWN — The YWCA of Greater Johnstown will honor seven outstanding women who demonstrate leadership qualities in their chosen fields, their personal lives and the commitment to community service during its 27th annual Tribute to Women awards ceremony at 5 p.m. May 23 at Pasquerilla Conference Center, 301 Napoleon St., Johnstown.

The 2013 honorees are:

• Arts & Letters: Sally Stewart, retired teacher and supervisor from the Greater Johns-town School District.

• Business: Reneé Carthew, city editor of The Tribune-Democrat.

• Community Service Volunteer: Amanda Artim, director of admissions at Cambria-Rowe Business College.

• Education: Laura Perry-Thompson, social work program director at Pitt-Johnstown.

• Nonprofit/Government: Edith Scaletta, nursing home administrator at Church of the Brethren Home.

• Professions: Dr. Jeanne Spencer, program director of the family medicine residency program at Conemaugh Health System.

• Yellow Rose Award: Diane Lopez, CEO and treasurer of G.A.P. Federal Credit Union.
