In brief: Camp extends sign-up deadline

INDIANA — Teens looking to join Camp Cadet of Indiana County now have until June 7 to apply.

The application period has been extended to allow boys and girls ages 13-15 to attend a free, weeklong camp at Camp Seph Mack in Indiana County.

Cadets work “hands-on” with law enforcement, emergency responders and other investigative agencies to learn investigative techniques and team building exercizes.

Event will honor hospice patients

“A Butterfly to Remember” balloon release in memory of AseraCare Hospice patients who died in the last year will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richland Golden Living Center, 349 Vo-Tech Drive.

The event is an opportunity for the community to come together with families, friends and caregivers to celebrate the lives of loved ones.

The Rev. Bernie Fortna, spiritual care coordinator, will offer a brief message of hope.

Refreshments will be available.
