The seventh annual motorcycle show and fundraising ride co-sponsored by the Johnstown Harley Owners Group and its sponsor, Zepka Inc. Harley-Davidson, will be held Aug. 10.
Participants in both events will gather at Zepka’s motorcycle shop along Eisenhower Boulevard in Richland Township.
With registration beginning at 11 a.m., the bike show will offer prize awards in 12 classes. Winners will be announced at about 2 p.m.
The competition is open to all brands and models of motorcycles.
Jim Burton, a WJAC-TV weatherman and a motorcycle owner himself, will again be one of the judges.
For a third year, the ride, in the form of a dice run, will benefit Windber Research Institute. Proceeds previously went to the One Book, One Community project.
Registration for the ride, which will leave Zepka’s at 3 p.m., will be held throughout the day.
Cost is $10 per participant – rider or passenger.
The person who brings the most people to register for the ride will receive a $100 gift certificate for Zepka merchandise.
Each person registering for the fundraiser, whether or not they ride, will receive a T-shirt and will be entitled to toss the dice.
Pizza and soda will be served at the Windber facility at the conclusion of the ride.
Tom Kurtz, WRI president and chief executive officer, will offer a tour to those interested.
Prizes and awards for the bike show and fundraising run will have a total value of $1,000.
