Alum Bank firefighters get money for gear

ALUM BANK — The Alum Bank Community Fire Company has been awarded a $71,820 grant from the federal Department of Homeland Security.

The grant will be used to purchase new turnout gear for

23 firefighters and a thermal imaging camera, said U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster, R-Hollidaysburg.

The grant also will be used to provide training to use the camera, he said.

“This is great for the first responders at Alum Bank Community Fire Company and the people they serve and protect every day,” Shuster said.
