Girlfriend of man killed in standoff arrested

LATROBE – Police said the girlfriend of man who shot a state trooper during a standoff last week has been arrested for allegedly providing him with two guns.

Authorities allege that 25-year-old Julian Faye Upholster of Latrobe helped Scott Murphy in the pharmacy robbery that led to the standoff. Upholster, who was arrested Monday, also allegedly stole two guns and gave them to Murphy. He died in a Friday shootout with police in Latrobe.

Murphy shot one officer in the head, but protective gear saved the trooper from serious injury.

Upholster is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail, unable to post bond. No attorney was listed on court papers.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 29.
