JOHNSTOWN — A Johnstown man was charged with aggravated assault Sunday after allegedly stabbing another man with a paring knife.

Johnstown police said James E. Brown, 32, stabbed a 29-year-old man in the triceps in his Coleman Avenue residence following an argument earlier that night at an area bar.

“Some comments were made at a bar ... and things got personal,” Sgt. Pat Goggin said. “The two men left (separately) but later ran into each other at the residence and it rekindled.”

Goggin described the knife wound as minor. It appeared the man was stabbed in the arm while trying to dodge an upper body attack, he added.

Police said the injured man was treated and released from Memorial Medical Center on Sunday.

Brown was jailed after failing to post $50,000 bond.
