An Everett area man was charged with attempted homicide after police said he fired a shot at another man during an argument early Thursday.
Steven Leroy Dunkle, 44, also was charged by the state police with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, making terroristic threats and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Dunkle was arraigned and then lodged in the Bedford County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
The man who was shot, Craig Lee Showalter, 33, of Everett, was treated at UPMC Bedford.
Police said Dunkle and Showalter became involved in an altercation around 2:30 a.m. at Dunkle’s residence in the 500 block of Monroe Street.
The altercation turned into a physical confrontation with Dunkle shooting at Showalter, police said.
Police executed a search warrant at the residence and said they located controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and several firearms.
