The home was destroyed and damage was estimated at about $85,000. The lone occupant was not home at the time.

The fire also caused about $10,000 damage to an adjacent home on Suter Street. The couple living there later returned to the home.

The same blaze also caused an estimated $8,000 damage to a home at Quaker Avenue and Suter Street. The family there was not displaced by the fire.
