A Beaverdale man was arrested Tuesday, charged with the DUI homicide of his passenger in November.
According to the criminal complaint, Zeth Donald Markel, 20, of Henry Street in Beaverdale, was negotiating a curve along State Route 53 just before 3 a.m. on Nov. 3 when his vehicle slid off the road and hit an embankment.
Markel’s passenger, Lyle D. Popish, 21, also of Beaverdale, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Popish was pronounced dead at the scene.
