Accident at milepost 181 closes Turnpike westbound

For The Tribune-Democrat

— Due to an accident involving three tractor trailers at milepost 181, the Pennsylvania Turnpike is closed westbound between Carlisle Interchange (milepost 226) and the Breezewood Interchange (milepost 161). Emergency crews are on the scene and there is no report of injuries at this time. A detour route will be given to customers entering and exiting the turnpike at these interchanges.

Due to the winter weather conditions, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the Pennsylvania State Police have implemented a reduced speed limit of 45 mph in the area between the New Stanton Interchange (milepost 75) and the Morgantown Interchange (milepost 298) in both directions.
