Crash on bypass injures two

JOHNSTOWN — Two people were injured Wednesday in a one-car crash on the Johnstown Expressway.

The crash happened at 12:38 p.m. in the westbound lane in Richland Township between the Widman Street and Walters Avenue exits.

Names of the injured – a female driver and male passenger, both in their 20s – were not immediately available, Richland police said.

Both were transported to Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown by East Hills Ambulance. The female was taken to the trauma unit, police said.

The Chevrolet Cavalier was in the passing lane when for unknown reasons the driver lost control. The car hit an embankment and then rolled over, police said.

Richland, Oakland and Johnstown firefighters responded.
