Robber sentenced to prison

SOMERSET — A Windber man was sentenced in Somerset County court to serve time in state prison for robbing a Conemaugh Township gas station last year.

Scott E. Gorzelsky, 28, was sentenced Thursday by Somerset County President Judge John M. Cascio to serve 16 months to three years after earlier pleading for robbery, according the county Clerk of Courts office.

Township police said Gorzelsky made off with money from the cash register at the BP Station on Franklin Street near Benscreek on June 23.

Cascio also sentenced Gorzelsky in a second case in which he had pleaded guilty to a theft charge. In that case, he was ordered to serve eight months to two years.

Gorzelsky’s sentence for both cases totals two to five years, a court official said.
