Paint Township police have issued warrants for two men they say have been eluding arrest.
They said one man assaulted a woman after she caught him rooting through her belongings.
Fred Younkers III, 21, was hired to do interior work for a Scalp Level woman’s home when he robbed her June 22, police said.
She caught Younkers rummaging through her belongings, but he punched her in the face and then fled with a large amount of cash, Paint Township Detective Daniel Croyle said.
Younkers, whose listed address is South Fork, also is wanted for his role in a 2012 burglary but has been able to elude police for a year.
“Not too many people can come back into the area and pull that off for this long,” said Croyle. He said police have gotten indications Younkers is frequenting the Windber area.
“He’s well aware we’re looking for him, and it’s clear at this point he isn’t going to turn himself in.”
In an unrelated case, township police also are seeking help tracking down Ryan Todd Matthew Glatz, 26. He is wanted on a charge of criminal attempt to commit theft stemming from a copper theft investigation.
Police said Glatz, a North Carolina native now apparently homeless, fled the area after officers tried to question him.
But Croyle said police believe he is back in northern Somerset County.
