Police release video images of burglary

JOHNSTOWN — Jackson Township police continue to search for two men who stole drugs and money from a Parkhill pharmacy on Sept. 18.

Two white males smashed the glass door of Martella’s Pharmacy on William Penn Avenue, crawled in and then made off with painkillers and a small amount of cash, police Chief Kenneth Smith said.

It’s believed the pair first cut the wire to the alarm system outside the building around 1 a.m., smashed the door with a crowbar and then fled, Smith said.

Police believe the two men returned around 3 a.m. and burglarized the store, making off with an undisclosed amount of Oxycotin and morphine.

Surveillance photos show two hooded men entering the store, one wearing a ski mask and one wearing a bandanna covering his nose and mouth.

An employee from the nearby Dollar General store called 911 after spotting the broken glass.

The pharmacy has since relocated to the former Burger King site, across the parking lot from its old location.

Anyone with information on the burglary can contact township police at 322-3801 or (800) 281-1680.
