Suspect sought in pharmacy robbery

JOHNSTOWN — Police are looking for a black man with yellow eyes who they said robbed a pharmacy Monday in Lower Yoder Township.

West Hills Regional police said the man walked into the Rite Aid pharmacy at

1759 Goucher Street at 6 p.m. Police said the man was at the front checkout when he distracted the female clerk.

“He went to the cash register to pay for a minor item,” police Sgt. George Musulin III said. “As the cashier opened the drawer, he requested a price on another item.

“When she turned to look at the item, he leaned over the counter, grabbed the cash from the register and fled.” Musulin said.

The man ran in the direction of D Street, Musulin said.

The robber is described at about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a slender build.

Police said his eyes were yellowish, indicating he may be addicted to drugs or alcohol.

Anyone with information about the robbery may contact West Hills police at 255-4145 or the non-emergency number, (800) 281-1680.
