Weight limits to take effect on 3 Somerset spans

— Effective Tuesday, PennDOT will lower the weight limit on three bridges in Somerset County to slow their deterioration and preserve safety while funding for their repairs remains uncertain.

The bridges affected are on:

Route 30 (Lincoln Highway), which spans a tributary to Calendar Run in Stonycreek Township, posted at 32 tons.

Route 403 (Barn Street), which spans Fallen Timber Run in Hooversville Borough, posted at 34 tons, or 40 tons for combination loads.

Vehicles exceeding the new weight limits must use an alternate route.
