Portage drug trafficker given 5-year sentence

JOHNSTOWN — A Portage man was sentenced in federal court on Monday to serve five years in prison after being convicted of conspiring to traffic oxycodone, U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton said.

U.S. District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Alfred Noble, 35, of the 100 block of Jamestown Road.

Noble is accused of conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute the painkiller from Jan. 17 to Feb. 6.

Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines prosecuted the case

The FBI, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office investigated the case.
