JOHNSTOWN — This interactive benefit invites its clients to join in the fun.

The 11th annual Turkey Trotter Dance to benefit the Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy Foundation will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Nov. 16 at Richland Township Firemen’s Banquet Facility, 1321 Scalp Ave.

The benefit returns to its regular venue after being held at New Germany Grove Hall last year, said Stacey Zometsky, communications manager for Choices People Supporting People, the parent company of Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a buffet dinner from 7 to 8 and live entertainment by DJ Dustin Greene from Top Dog Productions from 8 p.m. to midnight.

A  live auction will be held throughout the evening.

Dinner might be served buffet style, but the menu will feature the complete ingredients for a full ham and turkey dinner.

“This is our most interactive fundraiser because our consumers can attend,” Zometsky said.

“It’s an important social interaction. They look forward to this because they can get out in the community. They’re with family and friends, so they have a good time. We get 25 to 30 overall.”

Live auction items will include gift certificates, Pittsburgh Steelers items, gift and holiday packages and a vacation package to Florida.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the weekly activity programs the foundation provides in Cambria, Blair and Somerset counties.

The foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities by giving them the resources to continue living in the comfort of their own home with quality personal care.

Tickets, which are $25, will be available at the cerebral palsy office at 119 Jari Drive, Richland Township, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

There might be some available at the door, but Zometsky prefers they be picked up in advance.
