Richland police force increases by 2

Richland Township added two officers to its police force.

Stephen J. Krestar, 23, of South Fork, and Daniel Mock, 22, of Johnstown, stood before the township’s board Monday and took the oath of office.

Krestar said he has worked in law enforcement for four years, most recently with East Conemaugh Borough.

Mock graduated from the police academy in November.

Donations needed for Cribs for Kids

The Cambria County Coroner’s Office is reminding the community that since 2009 it has been a partner in the national Cribs for Kids program to provide low-income families with pack-and-play cribs.

Locally the program is a collaborative effort of ACRP/

Family Center, Beginnings Inc., Cambria County Coroner’s Child Death Review Team, Home Nursing Agency and Memorial Medical Center.

The Cribs for Kids program was started by grant funding and relies solely on community support.

Donations may be sent to the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, 116 Market St., Johnstown, Pa. 15901.

Checks may be made payable to the Children’s Safety Fund with CRIBS in the memo line.

Since July 2010, more than 250 low-income families have received cribs and safe sleep education from a number of local agencies.
