State police investigating fatal crashes

State police at Somerset are investigating two fatal crashes.

Information provided by Somerset County 911 center is that both crashes were within less than two hours of each other.

A call came in at 7:04 a.m. today regarding a one vehicle accident with a fatal on Route 281 – Stoystown Road – south of Stoystown.

Fire, emergency management crews and state police are still on the scene. The Somerset County coroner’s office was dispatched.

State police said no additional information is available at this time.

A second crash at 8:44 a.m. on Pompey Hill Road, in Stonycreek Township, is also listed as a fatal.

The coroner’s office, state police, fire and emergency management are on the scene, according to the 911 center.

The release of information by state police at Greensburg is pending following a fatal crash which occurred today in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County.
