Thunder expected to draw little rain

JOHNSTOWN — Motorcyclists should encounter typical June weather when they ride into Johnstown for this year’s Thunder in the Valley.

According to meteorologist Brian Edwards, the region is expected to experience temperatures in the high 70s to mid-80s from today through Sunday. Spotty thunderstorms might pop up, but no soaking rains are likely.

“Overall, I think it should be a pretty good stretch,” Edwards said.

Daily highs should steadily increase until reaching 85 on Sunday. On Friday, the first day of summer, the high is expected to hit 80.

Most of the week should be partially to mostly sunny.

“It really doesn’t look like a bad weather pattern at all,” Edwards said.

Thousands of individuals are expected to attend various outdoor Thunder in the Valley activities, including concerts, a run to Flight 93 National Memorial, a custom motorcycle show and hill climbs.
