Borough closing streets

Ebensburg celebrating Homecoming weekend

EBENSBURG — Sections of two main gateways into Ebensburg will be shut down Friday night for events kicking off homecoming weekend, borough officials said.

The closure will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. on Center and High streets’ main business district, where crowds will gather for two free concerts, including Ohio-based Santana tribute band Evil Ways and local alternative rock band Juke Left, Community Development Director Danea Koss said.

Traffic will be detoured around the closed portion of the downtown. Meanwhile, downtown businesses will be offering special promotions, outdoor dining and beverage sales, she said.

The events lead up to the borough’s Saturday homecoming, held annually since 2000.

The schedule can be found at or by calling the borough at 472-8780.
