Police allege adults gave booze to minors

VINCO — Seven adults were charged Thursday with providing alcohol to minors at a drinking party last year in Mineral Point.

Jackson Township police alleged that the adults, who had adjacent properties on Swigle Mountain Road, hosted a July 4 party that included drinking games for juveniles.

Police said the adults served the minors beer, screwdrivers, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, rum, Jell-O shots and other alcohol.

The juveniles also played drinking games including Beer Pong, according to criminal complaints filed by police.

At least one of the juveniles

vomited from drinking too much alcohol, police said.

Those charged are Brian R. Burket, 37, and Veronica Burket, 35; Brian P. Peterman, 37, and Tara R. Peterman, 33; Ronald Lynn Crusan, 55, and Debra J. Crusan, 53; and Jacqueline Ann Neves, 29, of Country Spring Drive, Mineral Point.

All are charged with seven counts each of corruption of minors, selling or furnishing alcohol to minors and criminal conspiracy.

An eighth person, Eric M. Neves, 30, of Country Spring Drive, Mineral Point, faces one count of corruption of minors.

The charges were filed before District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi of Vinco.

The suspects have yet to be arraigned.
