Home health aide accused of theft

JOHNSTOWN — A Boswell home health care worker will appear in Cambria County Court accused of stealing jewelry from the elderly patient.

Tara Renee Larose (Croyle), 37, of the 600 block of Kircher Place, waived her right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge John Barron of Stonycreek Township.

In a criminal complaint, township police said Larose was working as a home health care aide for Interim HealthCare in Johnstown in October 2013 and was assigned to provide aid to an elderly woman.

Police said Larose allegedly made off with three rings and sold them to a Kranich’s jewelry store for $150.

Larose was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property.

She remains free on $5,000 unsecured bond.
