Man accused of growing pot

CONFLUENCE —  A Lower Turkeyfoot man was jailed Thursday after authorities found him allegedly growing 22 marijuana plants.

State police in Somerset charged Ralph William Kemp III, 28, of the 500 block of Williams Street, with 22 counts of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and one count each of possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In a court document, troopers said they seized pot plants, lights used for growing pot, baggies used for packaging and a digital scale. Troopers gave no dollar estimate of the drugs.

Kemp was arraigned by District Judge Kenneth Johnson of Somerset and sent to the Somerset County Jail after failing to post $22,000 bond.
