In brief: Gallitzin man dies of ATV crash injuries

GALLITZIN — A local man injured Oct. 19 in an all-terrain vehicle accident has died as a result of his injuries.

State police at Ebensburg said Tuesday that Ronald Buck, 65, had died Oct. 25 at Altoona Regional Medical Center.

Buck was driving a 2011 Yamaha Grizzly on Syberton Road in Allegheny Township.

Police said he was trying to turn left onto Lincoln Road when the ATV rolled onto its right side.

Buck was thrown off and received a head injury. He was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The road was wet when the crash occurred, police said.

Copper cable stolen from business

CARROLLTOWN – Someone stole a large quantity of copper cable from Global Mine Service in East Carroll Township sometime Monday.

Police said the cable taken included 500 feet of 3/0 gauge, 170 feet of 2/0 gauge and 200 feet of 4/0 gauge.
