Upper Yoder man succumbs to injuries

JOHNSTOWN — An Upper Yoder Township man who was injured in a wreck Oct. 28 died Friday at Memorial Medical Center.

Anthony “Buck” Stumpo, 81, died of multiple internal injuries received in the accident, Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Lees has ruled. The death was ruled an accident.

Township police said the accident happened on Berkley Road at 9:42 a.m. when a pickup went out of control on the wet roadway at a sharp curve and hit the oncoming Stumpo car.

The pickup driver was identified as Albert Fragassi, 21, of Huntingdon.

District Attorney Kelly Callihan said Tuesday that her office will review police and autopsy reports to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

Stumpo was an avid golfer, a member of a group called the Berkley Hills Golf Course Herd and a sports enthusiast.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 124 Maple Ave., Johns­town.

Arrangements are by the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.
