JOHNSTOWN — On your mark, get set, go!

Easter Seals’ 25th annual Office Olympix will be held March 14 at the Masonic Temple, 130 Valley Pike, Johnstown.

It’s an event where teams compete in a series of seven games of skill to earn prizes.

Doors open at 5 p.m.

“Basically, it’s just a fun evening,” said Sandy Roush, the special events coordinator for Easter Seals. “People put together teams of five, but you don’t have to be from the same office, so anybody who wants to participate can put together a team.”

Cost is $180 per team and includes dinner, beverages, snacks and a gift for each team member.

Roush likes to keep the games a surprise, but said one of the favorites – office chair shuffleboard –  once again will be played.

“We don’t do anything that’s too high energy,” she said.

Trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams, as well as individual medals for top finishers.

On average, there are 30 teams and 150 people who participate.

“The feedback we get is positive and everyone loves it and we’d love to see this event continue to grow,” Roush said.

Money brought in from the Office Olympix benefits Easter Seals programs that help children and adults with physical disabilities.

“All the money stays in Cambria and Somerset counties,” Roush aid. “We want people to have a good time knowing that they are helping a good cause, and we appreciate their efforts to raise these funds.”

Deadline to register is March 8. Money is not due until the day of the event.

Sponsorships opportunities also are avaliable.
