Upper Yoder man sentenced in court for 2012 attack

EBENSBURG — George Zamias Jr. of Upper Yoder Township was sentenced in Cambria County Court Tuesday morning to 25 to 50 months in the Cambria County Prison for his alleged attack on his longtime friend.

Zamias, 55, has been in prison for 25 months following his arrest for the Feb. 15, 2012, incident when police said he hit Robert Bortoli and attacked him with a knife.

Zamias was ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to Bortoli, money which must be deposited before Zamias is released from prison, the judge said.
