Westmont woman charged in death of her husband

JOHNSTOWN — West Hills Regional police filed charges on Wednesday against Misty C. Petrick, 35, of the 1000 block of Omar Drive in Westmont in the Aug. 4 one-vehicle crash that killed her husband, Jamey Petrick, 44.

Misty C. Petrick was charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.151 percent. She also was charged with a summary offense of reckless driving.

The coroner’s office determined Jamey Petrick died from blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen from the crash. Misty Petrick was driving the 2006 Ford Mustang GT when she lost control and struck a tree in the 1600 block of Emmett Drive in Westmont.

An accident reconstructionist determined she was traveling between 37 and 40 mph in a 25 mph speed zone.

Misty Petrick was arraigned before District Judge John Barron and released on $20,000 unsecured bond.
