Richland bank robbed

JOHNSTOWN — The S&T Bank branch in Richland Township was robbed on Saturday.

A masked white male, wearing sunglasses, entered the building, located at 1516 Scalp Ave., about 15 minutes before the business was set to close at noon.

The robber displayed a handgun and made off with an undetermined amount of money.

“He got the money. He fled out the doors toward the back of S&T Bank and went down over the hill,” said township police Chief Mike Burgan.

A dye pack was placed with the money. It exploded off site, likely coloring much of the money a deep red. Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for stained money. The suspect may have received chemical burns from the dye.

No bank employees were harmed.
