Treasured tradition

JOHNSTOWN — “This little monkey was given to me in the late 1930s,” wrote Mary Jane Horner of Johnstown. “I used to play with it until I became older. Then I decided to put it on the tree. It has been there every Christmas since then. When you push in on his tail, he opens his mouth. When you move his tail back and forth, his head turns from side to side. He is about 8 inches long. I do not know who gave it to me, but I really treasure it.”
