Indiana Players preparing to stage ‘Oedipus the King’

INDIANA — Auditions for Indiana Players’ production of “Oedipus the King” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Philadelphia Street Playhouse, 725 Philadelphia St., downtown Indiana.

The director is looking for three men, one woman and two other actors of either gender.

The classic tragedy by Sophocles is adapted by Ronald L. Murphy Jr. from various source materials.

It is the tale of the destructive power of human pride staged in a bewildering set where the past and present merges.
