‘Slap Shot’ parade car offered for sale

— At 95 years old and a resident of the Presbyterian Home, Karl Scott Jr. doesn’t have much need for a convertible.

So Scott, a former Ferndale grocer, has put his 1967 Lincoln Continental up for sale.

With its “suicide doors,” leather interior and cared-for condition, the car is one that should appeal to collectors.

It might also attract some movie buffs.

The car gained fame in 1976 when it was used to carry Paul Newman and co-stars during the shooting of a parade scene in “Slap Shot.”
