Concert series starts Sunday

JOHNSTOWN — The inaugural concert in the Jackie Young-Flack Memorial Concert Series will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. David’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 401 Main St. in Davidsville.  

Two up and coming artists, Jessica Mary Murphy and Corey Everly, will be featured.  

Murphy is a soprano who enjoys performing in musical theater repertoire, but she recently returned to Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J., to complete her graduate work in classical voice performance.

She has been hailed as an exceptional soloist in her recent opera roles.

Everly, her accompanist, is a 2009 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School who has been studying music at Westminster Choir College.  

He is an accomplished conductor, pianist and vocalist who is the accompanist for the conducting institute, the middle school music theater and the vocal institute, all at Westminster Choir College.

The concert series is being put together by the newly formed Artists Connection of the Alleghenies at St. David’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for students, will be available at the door.
