4 students receive $1G scholarships

JOHNSTOWN — Four area students have been awarded $1,000 scholarships by the Comcast Foundation.

They are Dawn Craft of Central Cambria High School, William Conn of Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School, Gina Trulick of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and Cassandra West of North Star High School.

The foundation awarded $187,000 in scholarships to 178 high school seniors in the state through its annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.

Those who receive the scholarships are catalysts for positive change in their communities, are involved in their schools and serve as models for their fellow students, the foundation said.
