NEW YORK —
Laurel Auto Group 9-22, Ophthalmic Associates 2-2: At Roxbury Park, Zac Heide had six hits – including a three-run homer – to lead Laurel Auto Group to a sweep over Ophthalmic Associates on Sunday.
Zach Zimmerman had three hits in the first game, which picked up in the second inning after being postponed from July 1. Gordon Barr and Heide had two hits apiece.
Heide led the way in Game 2 with four hits, including his big home run. Laurel Auto Group, which scored seven runs in the first inning and 13 in the seventh, also had three-hit days from Ryan Matsko, Ben Webb and Zimmerman.
Logan Fluke and Cam Kaminsky each had two hits for Ophthalmic in the opener while Corey Keenan and Kirk Davis had two apiece in the nightcap.
Berkley Hills Renegades 8-8, Martella’s Pharmacy
1-3: At Point, Berkley Hills Renegades swept a doubleheader from Martella’s Pharmacy.
Nate Campbell was 3 for 4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI as the Rengades used a seven-run sixth to down Martella’s in the first game.
Rick Jones and Brett Marabito each had two RBI for Berkley Hills. Tony Strasiser scored the lone run for the Pharmacy.
In the second game, Matt Kastelic was 3 for 3 and scored a run, Campbell was 2 for 3 and scored twice while Dylin Brooks was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a run batted in for the Renegades.
Matt McMillen scored a run for Martella’s.
Delweld 5, First Commonwealth 4: At Point, Matt Martin and Drew Hemminger were each 2 for 3, with Martin scoring twice, in Delweld’s narrow win over First Commonwealth in the opener Sunday.
Ian Helsel had two hits and Josh Staniscia added a double and a run scored for league-leader Delweld (23-7).
Spencer Price had two hits and scored a run for First Commonwealth.
First Commonwealth 5, Ophthalmic Associates 3: At Point Stadium, Price had a hit and scored a run in Saturday’s late game.
