Laurel holds

off Ophthalmic

Jon White had three hits to help lead Laurel Auto Group to a

6-4 win over Ophthalmic Associates on Monday in the early AAABA League game at Point Stadium.

Ben Webb and Dan Clark added two hits each for Laurel, with Webb also driving in four runs.

Dylan Foor had two hits and a run batted in while Josh Barron provided a triple and two RBI for Ophthalmic.

Martella’s clips Commonwealth

AAABA League-leading Martella’s Pharmacy outlasted First Commonwealth Bank 2-1 in the late game at Point Stadium.

Dillon Boyer and Jesse Cooper were each 2-for-3, with Cooper scoring a run, for Martella’s (19-2).

Nate Neiderhiser and Pat Gully each drove in a run.

Dave Barefoot was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for First Commonwealth.

The pitchers’ duel between Zach Martinelli and Nate Nickel went to Martella’s Martinelli.

Lilly edges Portage in nine

PORTAGE – Ty Strasser knocked in the eventual winning run in the top of the ninth as Lilly downed Portage 9-6 on Sunday in a Cambria American Legion game.

Jake Hurley had two hits, including a double, scored twice and had an RBI, Zane Itle scored two runs and had an RBI. Mark Mardula had two hits, scored a run and added an RBI for Lilly.

For Portage, Scott Petrunak doubled in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh, C.W. Miller had a hit and two RBI, Bailey Kerch had two hits, scored a run and had an RBI and Zach Coukart had a hit, scored a run and had an RBI.

Patton surprises Bedford Legion

PATTON – Pitcher Mark Lantzy gave up just one hit – a lead-off single to Bedford’s Luke Waugerman – as Patton downed the visiting Hurricanes 4-1 in Cambria Legion action.

Tyler Crawford was 2-for-3 with doubles and drove in three runs for Patton (7-10).

South Division leader Bedford (12-2) committed four errors.
