Rams, Comets matchup highlights Week 7

(Continued)

Non-Conference

Kutztown at Chestnut Ridge

Chestnut Ridge (4-2) has won three straight including last week’s 24-2 victory over St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy.

Junior fullback Matt Wiley leads the Lions with 558 rushing yards on 93 carries. He’s rushed for 375 yards and all six of his touchdowns during the winning streak. Defensively, junior Noah Osman has four of Ridge’s nine interceptions.

Kutztown (0-6) is winless and has been outscored 241-93. The Cougars have allowed 40 or more points in each of the last four games.

Homer-Center at Conemaugh Township

Undefeated Homer-Center (6-0) visits Conemaugh Township (1-5) a week after a controversial finish impacted the coaching staff for this week’s game.

Head coach Sam Zambanini was ejected late in a 42-35 loss at Windber and by PIAA rules must sit out this week. The actions of two assistant coaches during and after the game reportedly were being investigated.

On the field, three different Township runners have gained at least 350 rushing yards – sophomore Austin Myers (97-388, five TDs), senior Kody Ofsanko (56-375) and senior Bruno Rosa (61-352). Quarterback Rosa has completed 22 of 39 passes for 307 yards since returning from an injury.

Homer-Center has outscored opponents 225-55. Last week the Wildcats shut out winless United 37-0.

Homer-Center has scored 30 or more points five times and had 28 points in its other victory.
