A sonnet? Doggone it!

— I’m a gal of many talents,

Though lots of folks don’t know it.

Back in high school, I once thought I might become a poet.

I wrote of teenage angst and fear

When I was sad or blue,

But destiny has spun my world,

Dear Readers, thanks to you!

God has blessed me bountifully.

I don’t know where to start

Sharing all the gratitude that

Fills my life and heart.

I’ll start with friends and family,

Great neighbors, colleagues, too,

Health care folks with hearts of gold,

I thank the Lord for you.

I loved to teach; I loved my kids,

But when those days were through

Another opportunity

Made life all fresh and new.

Health issues taught me patience

And helped me learn to cope.

Overcoming obstacles

Can fill your soul with hope.

I love making people smile.

I love to get to know ‘em.

Now, please forgive this old schoolmarm

Who made you read a poem!

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I hope that you, like me, have endless blessings to count. (Every day I spend “above ground” is a biggie).

When you see me out, say “hi.” It humbles me to realize that

I entertain so many of you!

 FANS! ME! Imagine!

But be grateful I didn’t invite you to dinner.
