SOMERSET — GERIDEAU – Benjamen, 68, Somerset County, passed away peacefully at his home Dec. 15, 2013. Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Magwood Gerideau; father, Benjamen Gerideau; sister, Mary Frances Webb; and son, Mark Gerideau. Survived by his children, Amber Gerideau, Vanessa Gerideau, Jesse Gerideau, Jonas Gerideau, Launa Clark, Darin Kendrick, Frank Gerideau and Lisa Gerideau-Williams. Also survived by his companion, Christine Bortz. Benjamen brought joy to many with his gifts as a musician and composer. His music had the ability to move people, and in his later years, brought memories of classic R&B into the lives of many residents in nursing homes in Cambria and Somerset counties. He had been a long distance runner for many years, and was an accomplished juggler. He loved sharing his gifts with others; he was willing to take the time to teach anyone that was willing to learn. He also was a patient and successful dog trainer. He will be truly missed. A memorial celebration of his life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, 625 Knox St., Indiana, Pa. Please wear bright colors.
