James R. Lees

JOHNSTOWN — LEES – James R., 63, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord Dec. 29, 2013, at his residence after a courageous battle with ALS. Born Oct. 16, 1950, in Johnstown, son of James and Virginia (DeRubis) Lees. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Johnstown; wife, the former Patricia Peters, whom he married May 10, 1975. Also survived by daughters, Brieana (Josh Day), Johnstown; and Shauna (William Campbell), Windber; and grandchildren, Summer and Benjamin Campbell. Brother of Richard (Marie Mikula) and Jeff (Traca Howsare), both of Johnstown. Also survived by nieces, Jennifer (Brian Deutsch) and Sarah Lees, both of State College. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, and was a retired foreman from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Burns Harbor, Ind. He also worked at DRS Technologies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jim was a kind and loving man, who will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to have had him in their lives. Friends received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Benedict Church, Father David Peles, celebrant. Committal, St. Anthony Cemetery. “Lord, now lettest thy servant depart in peace according to thy word.” (Luke 2:29)
