Donald W. Goughnour Sr.

PORTAGE — GOUGHNOUR – Donald W. Sr., 68, Portage, died Oct. 5, 2012, at home. Born May 11, 1944, in Johnstown, son of Sanford E. and Alma E. (McNeal) Goughnour. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Sanford C. “Pete” Goughnour. Survived by fiancee, Barbara Beavers, Portage; sons, Donald W. Jr. “Buddy,” married to Christine Castel, St. Mary’s; and Dr. Dale M., married to Regina Koza, Portage; grandchildren, Kristy, Kara, Kaitlyn, Revin and Raina Goughnour; sister-in-law, Grace (Speranza) Goughnour, Mineral Point; niece, Regina; and nephew, Peter. Don retired from the custodial and maintenance department at Cresson State Hospital. Member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. He was a very talented musician who had a passion for music and enjoyed playing lead guitar in his bands, Klassic Kountry and With Hired Hands, and gospel music at many local churches. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, by the Rev. Michael Christine.
