LANCASTER — SADOSKY – Pauline, 70, Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with a long term illness. Born Sept. 26, 1943, in Windber, she was the youngest of 10 children born to the late Metro and Susan (Fetsko) Filyo. Pauline was married to Richard R. Sadosky for 40 years. Her family was the light of her life. She enjoyed doing many things with them, especially shopping, eating out and going to movies with her two daughters. She also liked watching soap operas, reading, listening to music, trips to the beach, Baltimore and New York City and following her favorite sports teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oregon Ducks. Pauline was a very fun and social woman. She loved being around others and brought joy to many. She had a sassy personality and great sense of humor, passing all of this on to her daughters. Growing up, her nickname was “Flucy,” but because she was funny, she earned herself the nicknames “Susie” and “Q-Tip.” In her earlier years, Pauline worked in Cleveland, Ohio, as a phone operator for Bell Telephone Co. She also lived in Washington, D.C., in 1963 and partook in President JFK’s memorial service activities. Pauline was a homemaker when her girls were young, but as they grew, she returned to the work force. She retired in 2009 from the Lancaster County Office of Aging after 21 years as a receptionist. She is survived by her husband, Richard R. Sadosky, Lancaster; her two daughters, Mandy Sadosky-Rock, wife of David Rock, Mount Joy, Pa., and Marla Sadosky, Lancaster; and her older sister, Helen Kott, Central City. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and six sisters. There will be no public viewing or memorial service per Pauline’s wishes. She will be cremated, and a private service will be held at a later date. To submit an online condolence visit www.scheidfuneralhome.com.
