TEXAS — ZENDT – Harold Luther, 66, died Dec. 23, 2013, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Webster, Texas. Born April 30, 1947, in Lewistown, Pa., son of J. Lloyd and Anna (Snyder) Zendt. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, J. Lloyd; and brother, Lee. Survived by his wife, the former Donna Froehlich; son, Aaron, and his wife, Jeni; granddaughter, Elizabeth; and son, Justin, and his fiancee, Jamie Lampert. Brother of Sylvia Berry and Marjorie Hack, both of Juniata County, Pa. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Over a 40-year career, Harold worked for the U.S. Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard. He was the military personnel officer for the 79th ARCOM, NAS, Willow Grove, Pa., from 1988 to 1995. Harold served as the military personnel officer for the 75th Division, Houston, Texas, until his retirement in 2007. Harold retired from the military as a lieutenant colonel with numerous awards and decorations, including a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star with V-Device and a Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster, which he earned during his overseas tour (1968-69) in Vietnam with Bravo Co. 2nd of the 14th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. Funeral service was held Dec. 26 in Texas.
